A decade of prosecution experience, now on your side!

Watts we work around the clock, day and night, to ensure that you receive the best possible representation. We believe that proper preparation is the best way to successfully win a case. With our diligence and the client's cooperation, we are confident that we can get you the best outcome possible.
It is important for citizens to know their rights as well, as we live in an era where citizens’ rights are under attack from the courts, law enforcement, and politicians eager to demonstrate that they are “tough on crime.” Below is your free bit of legal advice:
1) When dealing with law enforcement, be polite. While it may be legal to vent to the officer and “speak your mind,” it rarely helps the situation.
2) Do not answer questions. Generally, you are not required to even provide your identification unless you are being detained, and in order to be detained, the officer must have some reasonable suspicion based on articulable facts that a crime has been, is being, or is about to be committed. And you are never required to answer questions designed to incriminate you. Silence is almost always your best option.
3) NEVER, under any circumstances, consent to any search. However, do not physically interfere with a search, if the officer insists on conducting it. Fight that search in court with James R. Watts, where you have a chance to win, rather than on the side of the road where resistance will simply lead to more difficulties.
